Creating a better future

Many of us with short memories remember the hype surrounding the MRET target review in 2004. This time the hype and hope is driven by the global community not just those in the know.

Change is difficult, with non linear disruptions and shocks often commonplace. Many sustainability professionals have worked hard over years to change their organisations/client perspectives. How will the CPRS delay affect you/your clients/sustainability investments?.

Let me know how you are impacted?

Many of the so-called responsible investors I have met with during my time in Australia are probably more relieved than anything else as they don't need to do anything for the time being. So many in Australia have signed up for the UNPRI (obviously for marketing purposes only) but have had no action plan whatsoever. CPRS was probably their worst nightmare but now they can sleep well for a few more months.

I really feel for those who have put everything into developing new renewable energy projects who may now face the prospect of limited or no funding or alternatively may go offshore.

Earlier this year I saw the launch of the documentary "The Future Makers"and was fortunate enough to meet some of amazing scientists and innovators who have spent their lives researching and developing new forms of renewable energy. I would hate to think what the delay in the CPRS would mean to their projects which have such great potential.
