Yesterdays announcement of a 5% reduction in Carbon emissions with the scope to go up to 15% if we get international pressure has caused some heated comments such as.
Laughable
Surrendering on climate change
Rudd looses the plot
A failed leader!!
Government fails leadership test

How would you describe it??

Comment by Tim Woodhouse on December 18, 2008 at 3:28pm: Clever politics - using the flawed logic that we will be achieving similar per capita cuts as Europe has committed to overlooks the fact that we are currently emitting at much higher per capita levels than most European countries and therefore need to cut back much further than 5%

Comment by janet on December 17, 2008 at 1:39pm: I think “depressing” comes to mind. The urgency of the situation will be difficult to get across when our leaders appear to be taking a very short term view. I guess it is a reflection of our instant gratification culture. Wrong signal Rudd!
