Fairfax launches The Wellbeing Index

In a time of increasing economic conservatism within our media, it is exciting to see a major media company, Fairfax, launching a new economic indicator that offers an alternative to our obsession with GDP. As the Herald's Ross Gittins and the indices architect Nicholas Gruen both point out, GDP is a great indicator as to employment growth and the amount of cash going into people's pockets. But…See More

This is George

'This is George' is the story of a human called George, a plant called a sunflower, and the connection they both have to climate change.

SWITCH THE LIGHTS OFF! (A practical lesson in normative messaging)

Posted on March 30, 2011 at 3:12pm 0 Comments

No this is not about Earth Hour, but rather a practical experience I recently had with some unconscious normative messaging and behaviour.

Recently I had a friend visiting from  Brazil staying in our apartment for 2 weeks. One of the first I noticed is that she never switched the lights off when…

I'm sure most of our visitors here at Change2 came out of the 2007 Federal election with a sense of optimism. Kevin Rudd was going to put a price on carbon, get indigenous reconciliation back on the agenda and take a moral and compassionate stance on asylum seekers. We were also going to see a visionary piece of national infrastructure built; the National Broadband Network.

I'm also sure most of you shared my sense of disappointment at the way the climate debate…

G'day Leon, thanks for the welcome - it has been a while. My how we've grown! I've been 'dropping in' to check out the skinny from the sidelines without signing in, much to my detriment as now I can't seem to sign into my old profile - I had to make a new one and now I have 2 in my name!?!

Anyhoo, might have a wander and see what other smilin' faces there are...

Cheers

Hi Leon... Yeah AP is certainly embracing the concept in a big way - it's a major push for us. We've just released a whole range of Carbon Neutral brands, and launched a marketing campaign to match. I look forward to discussions on the network! R/
